The most complete coverage for dental, behavioral issues, hereditary conditions & more
Fetch Pet covers what others charge extra for or don't cover at all — including 100% reimbursement for behavioral issues, dental coverage for every tooth plus gums and treatment for breed-specific conditions. You won’t get all of that from other pet insurance providers.
Coverage for dental disease & injury
Fetch Pet is the only pet insurance that covers injury and disease in all adult teeth and your pet's gums. Other providers limit dental coverage to the 4 canine teeth or don’t cover dental disease at all. With Fetch Pet, you get full coverage for periodontal disease (the most common disease in dogs and cats), oral tumors, dental trauma, endodontic treatments, like root canals, and more. A root canal costs $3,140 on average, so this coverage matters. ASPCA and Spot don’t cover root canals and other endodontic treatments.

Coverage for behavioral therapy
Over 95% of dogs and 75% of cats experience behavioral issues (think: aggression, urine marking, separation anxiety and more). Only Fetch Pet gives you 100% reimbursement for this — up to $1,000/yr. with no copay and no deductible. It's included in every policy at no extra cost.

Coverage for hereditary & congenital conditions
Not all providers cover hereditary and congenital conditions, such as hip dysplasia in larger dog breeds, intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) in Dachshunds or cerebellar hypoplasia in cats (also known as “wobbly cat syndrome”). Fetch Pet’s complete coverage includes treatment for these issues with up to 90% reimbursement — no breed restrictions and no upper-age limits. This includes sick-visit exam fees, diagnostics, medication, surgery and more.

Add Fetch Wellness to cover preventive care & help give your pet more good days
Fetch Wellness covers the preventive care that helps keep your pet healthy (think: annual exams, vaccines, dental cleanings, spay/neuter, flea and tick prevention and more). Healthy Paws and Trupanion don’t offer any wellness coverage at all. Meanwhile, Fetch Wellness reimburses you for treatments that are excluded by Lemonade, including heartworm tests, microchipping and urinalysis. When you add optional wellness to your policy, you’ll have the full package for your pet’s happiest, healthiest life.

What pet insurance does not cover
Pet insurance covers future accidents and illnesses — the things you can’t see coming. Here’s what typically isn’t covered, so you know what to look out for in your specific policy.
Pre-existing conditions
In general, no pet insurance covers all pre-existing conditions. A pre-existing condition is defined as any injury, illness or condition that your pet shows signs or symptoms of either before you enroll in insurance or during your policy’s waiting period. These conditions will be noted in your pet's veterinary medical records. Any claims for treatment related to a pre-existing condition will not be covered — unless it’s a curable pre-existing condition.
Preventive care (without Fetch Wellness)
If you choose not to add an optional wellness plan to your pet’s insurance policy, their preventive care (like annual exams and vaccines) won’t be covered.
Claims filed after 90 days
Remember to submit claims within 90 days from the date on your pet's invoice to be eligible for reimbursement with Fetch Pet. Claims submitted after 90 days won't be covered.
Commonly excluded from pet insurance policies
Ear cropping and tail docking
Prescription food
Grooming
Care not provided by a licensed vet
Airline pet travel fees
How pet insurance waiting periods affect when coverage starts
The waiting period is the set time between your policy’s effective date and when illness coverage begins. With Fetch Pet, any illness that occurs during or before the 15-day waiting period will not be covered. Fetch Pet has no waiting period for accidents and, if added, wellness coverage. This means any new injuries that occur the day after you sign up are eligible for coverage.
