Lemonade doesn’t cover full-mouth dental, boarding fees & more — Fetch does
The most complete dental coverage comes standard with Fetch. Lemonade charges extra to cover dental illnesses.

Fetch covers injury and disease in all adult teeth and your pet’s gums. This includes periodontal disease (the most common disease in dogs and cats), oral tumors, dental trauma and more.
Lemonade’s standard plan doesn’t cover periodontal disease, so you’d have to pay extra for an add-on for dental disease coverage. This plan only includes the extraction and reconstruction of damaged teeth caused by an accident — and even with the add-on, Lemonade caps dental coverage at $1,000 a year.
Fetch gives you 100% reimbursement on hundreds of qualifying pet meds with Fetch Pet Rx† — Lemonade doesn’t.

With Fetch, medications are delivered to your door and are eligible for 100% reimbursement through our online pharmacy, Fetch Pet Rx.
Lemonade doesn’t offer this. Fetch is the only pet insurance provider that pays you back 100% of the cost of your pet’s meds when you use Fetch Pet Rx.

Lemonade pet insurance is not available in 13 U.S. states or anywhere in Canada. Fetch has complete dental coverage — Lemonade charges extra & caps reimbursement
Fetch provides the most complete pet insurance with full-mouth dental coverage for injuries and illnesses. Lemonade has limitations and restrictions on dental: For starters, you have to pay for an add-on to get any coverage for dental illness because their standard plan only covers dental accidents.
Even with the add-on, Lemonade has a cap (also known as a “sublimit” in insurance-speak) of $1,000/yr. on dental illness coverage. That means the most you’ll get reimbursed for treatment related to dental illness is $1,000 and you’re fully responsible for any costs beyond that amount. Veterinary dental care is expensive and a single treatment like a root canal can exceed $1,000. Fetch doesn’t have a sublimit on dental — your pet is covered for every tooth, plus gums, up to your max annual payout.

Pet insurance cost comparison: how add-ons & limitations affect price & reimbursement
When you get a pet insurance quote with Fetch or Lemonade, you’ll be given options to customize the cost. With Fetch, you can choose the deductible, max annual payout and reimbursement rate that’s right for your pet and your budget. Getting a quote with Lemonade requires making a lot of on-the-spot decisions about coverage because Lemonade offers a lot of add-on options that give you more coverage, but ultimately make your price go up. Your quoted price with Fetch might look more expensive at first, but that’s because the most complete coverage comes standard with Fetch — you don’t need to add it.
Lemonade’s add-ons can make your price significantly higher
You’d have to pay for 5 add-ons to reach Lemonade’s maximum coverage — and you’d still be getting less coverage than you would with Fetch. Dental illness, physical therapy, behavioral therapy and sick-visit exam fees will all cost more with Lemonade. All of this coverage is included with Fetch.
Lemonade has a sublimit on dental illness coverage
Lemonade charges extra to add dental illness coverage, and even then, reimbursement is capped at $1,000/yr. This may sound high, but a single procedure like a root canal can cost thousands of dollars. Fetch has complete dental coverage for every tooth, plus gums, up to your max annual payout.
With Fetch, you’ll save money on your pet’s medications & more
Fetch gives you 100% reimbursement for hundreds of qualifying pet meds† when you use Fetch Pet Rx. Fetch Members also get access to ongoing discounts to save on their pet’s everyday needs with Fetch Deals. Lemonade doesn’t have 100% reimbursement on meds and doesn’t offer ongoing savings on essentials.
Fetch’s optional Wellness plan covers more than Lemonade’s preventive care add-on
Both Fetch and Lemonade offer preventive coverage as an optional add-on to your standard accident and illness pet insurance plan. Fetch Wellness provides more coverage for preventive care than Lemonade, including heartworm tests, microchipping, blood tests and urinalysis. Lemonade’s preventive care add-on does not offer reimbursement for any of those.
When you add Fetch Wellness, you’ll get money back for the vet visits that help keep your pet healthy (think: annual exams, vaccinations, dental cleanings and more). With coverage for both unexpected vet visits and preventive care, you’ll have the full package for your pet’s happiest, healthiest life.
