Medical records specifically SOAP notes and test results allow Fetch to determine what we can cover, which allows us to process claims quickly. Medical records should include the date of the vet visit being claimed, as well as your pet patient’s past medical history, beginning one year prior to the start date of their insurance policy.

As your client’s vet, the Fetch customer service team can explain basic policy information to you. Because of privacy laws, however, they’re unable to discuss claim details with anyone other than the pet parent with a Fetch Pet Insurance policy enrolled under their name. We encourage your client to check the status of their claim through the Fetch Pet Insurance app (which can be downloaded via the or App Store Google Play).

Like other pet insurance providers, Fetch doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions. This is any condition that your pet shows signs of, or occurs before you enroll or during the waiting period of up to 15 days. Fetch is one of just a few providers that cover curable pre-existing conditions. Here’s how it works: If a pet has an injury or illness and then goes 12 months without signs, symptoms or treatment, that injury or illness is considered curable and is eligible for coverage.
