Brandywine Valley SPCA
We’re honored to partner with Brandywine Valley SPCA, a shelter that’s dedicated to finding homes for 16,000 pets each year and involving the community in animal welfare.
History
Since 1929, Brandywine Valley SPCA (BVSPCA) has been putting animal welfare first while encouraging community members to do so, too. The animal shelter is Pennsylvania’s first no-kill, open-admission shelter. Since BVSPCA was established, the animal shelter has extended its impact to five campuses throughout Delaware and Pennsylvania.
“It’s important to us that these pets and their families have the best possible resources for the rest of their lives, including pet insurance. Fetch Pet Insurance is the best security we can give them.”
Chief Executive Officer, BVSPCA
Mission
BVSPCA seeks to “put the human back in ‘humane’ animal treatment” by engaging the community in educational and fundraising initiatives. And the results of their efforts show. BVSPCA rescues and places over 16,000 animals in forever homes each year. By partnering with Fetch, the animal shelter takes pet care to the next level, too. “Pets are essentially four-legged children, and the cost of medical care is not far from comparable to human medical care,” Walter Fenstermacher, director of operations at BVSPCA, said. “I think it's an important thing for folks to be protected against unexpected occurrences, just like you would protect yourself and your family with medical insurance.”
Bleu's Story
Haley, a Fetch policyholder, adopted Bleu from BVSPCA. After a challenging year, she was hoping to bring some happiness into her life. "As soon as I saw his sweet little face, I knew I had to go meet him," Haley said.
